Terilynn Anderson
Midwest Sales Rep, Trainer, and Coach
As a fifth-grade Massachusetts teacher who engaged in curriculum review teams, Terilynn Anderson quickly discovered the powerful impact of explicit writing instruction in her classroom. The tools and techniques she gained not only transformed her teaching, resulting in enthusiastic and capable writers, but also helped her students transfer those skills to reading and social studies—making instruction more effective and enjoyable across the board.
Following her move to the Chicago area, Terilynn joined the Empowering Writers team to help bring these tools and strategies to a broader community of educators. For the past 4 years, she has served as a writing coach and professional development trainer, collaborating with school and district leaders to elevate writing instruction. She’s passionate about making it clear,
doable, and meaningful for teachers and students. Terilynn holds a BS in Elementary Education and an MEd in Special and Inclusive Education, which she received at the University of Manchester in England. She has also conducted research on instructional practices in
the U.S., contributing a chapter based on this work to a published book on educational research methods.
