Editing & Revising

This recorded workshop will be delivered on the HUB and will include access to the HUB Editing & Revising guide with interactive student pages until Jun 30, 2021. The workshop will be available for 14 days upon payment from either a PO or Credit Card. Below are the details on the workshop.
 
Take the mystery out of grammar and mechanics! Empowering Writers will provide the “how” for delivering direct instruction in revising and editing. This virtual workshop is divided into four sessions, with session two broken into two parts. Each session is approximately 50-60 minutes long. You will have the recordings available to you for a total of two weeks. The recorded sessions allow you, the participant, to view the videos at your own pace during the open window. View, rewind, take notes, and review any sections as you apply the learning to your classroom instruction. It is so much more than skill and drill!
Along with the recorded sessions, you will receive a supplemental handout that provides student reference sheets, activity instructions and templates, and student writing samples used in the presentation. These will provide a quick reference as well as extensions that are beyond the contents of your guide.

Virtual 3 Mini Session Series

  • Tapping into the editor’s toolbox through the reading-writing connection and building on common language skills and assured experiences
  • Identifying more opportunities to create meaningful revision by utilizing sentence variety and powerful word choice
  • Exploring and applying advanced elaboration techniques through research
  • Encouraging consistent application of skills taught
 
Session #3: Process Writing
This 2 hour session will empower you to support student writing by:
  • Applying each step of the writing process through a guided approach
  • Developing time management skills
  • Applying skills discretely practiced to produce a quality finished product
  • Utilizing tips for editing and revising
